These are images of the Vlist (name of this little river) that runs between the towns of Schoonhoven en Gouda in the western part of the Netherlands.
I was born and raised in Schoonhoven and went to High school in Gouda. The distance between the two towns is around 9 miles and I covered this distance on a bicycle for 5 years. As far as I remember I never came off the bike so I became familiar with this landscape seated and pedaling.
This space (place) always made me happy because of it’s beauty and it’s calm and the way people went about their business which was and still is small scale dairy farming.
Looking at these pictures today, and also being there, there is also a feeling of nostalgia.
